Welcome to Neitikoski, Lieksa

Welcome to the 2026 Paddle Europe Freestyle Championships!

The European freestyle kayaking championships will be held in Finland from June 10 to 13, 2026.

Ruunaa Hiking area

The venue is Neitikoski rapid, located in Ruunaa hiking area and Ruunaa Outdoor Center, Lieksa, North Karelia. Neitikoski is the most popular place for freestyle canoeing in Finland due to its consistent and favourable conditions for freestyle canoeing.

The region is known for its thousands of lakes, vast forests and iconic landscapes – such as the Koli National Landscape, which has inspired artists for generations.

Located in the Finnish Lakeland, North Karelia offers a unique connection to nature throughout all four seasons. It is an ideal destination for outdoor activities and water-based experiences, from canoeing and hiking to cycling.

Karelian traditions are reflected in local cuisine, music and way of life, and visitors are welcomed with warmth and authenticity. North Karelia is a place to experience the peaceful rhythm of nature, active outdoor adventures and a distinctive cultural heritage.
